Download Accelerator Plus (DAP) is the world's most popular download acceleration application. After installation, DAP fully integrates with your web browser and accelerates your downloads by up to 400%. DAP's been installed more than 300 million times all over the world. It's Fast and FREE!
How does Download Accelerator Plus (DAP) accelerate my download speeds?
Download Accelerator Plus (DAP) acceleration is achieved by two factors:
  1. Locating the most responsive servers from which to access the file
  2. Using our patented multi-connection feature to perform the download
To locate the most responsive servers, DAP executes a proximity check to determine which of the available mirror sites are most responsive in relation to your specific location. Then it initiates multiple connections to download several different segments of the same file simultaneously and reassemble them at the user's PC. This results in maximum utilization of the available bandwidth.

How do I check if my downloaded files are safe for my computer?
Speedbit's DAP offers you an additional level of security by testing the files you download with leading antivirus programs and sending you an alert letting you know if it is a Trusted, Potentially Unwanted, or High Risk file. DAP's download security is powered by Speedbit's Multi Anti-Virus (MAV) analysis service. It provides you with the test results of the file you have downloaded from several antivirus applications. This comparison gives you valuable insight into the nature of your files, and helps you determine if they are safe.
How do I automatically check every file I download for viruses?
You may select files that have been downloaded and scan them - inoculating, fixing or quarantining them, depending on results of the virus scan. This option can only be enabled if an existing anti-virus program is associated with DAP.

How to associate an anti-virus program with DAP:
  1. In DAP's main window, click the Tools menu and click Options. The DAP Options window appears.
  2. Choose Download Preferences.
  3. Select the Check for viruses option to verify that Virus Checking is enabled and click the Browse button to find your anti-virus program. Select the virus program you wish to use.
In addition to activating your computers antivirus program, DAP checks all your downloads, files and sources for threats and malicious files. This security feature is powered by Speedbit Multi Antivirus Analysis.
